The Best Photo & Video Locations in Kelowna and the Okanagan, Season by Season

Short answer: the Okanagan is one of the most photogenic regions in Canada, and the best location depends on the season and the light. Here are the spots we return to for family sessions, weddings and brand films — and when to book them.

Spring (April–May)

  • Orchards in blossom in Lake Country and East Kelowna – white and pink for about two weeks.
  • Knox Mountain – green hills and lake views before the summer brown.
  • Mission Creek Greenway – soft light under fresh leaves.

Summer (June–August)

  • Okanagan Lake beaches – golden hour after 7 pm, warm water for families with kids.
  • Vineyards in West Kelowna and the Naramata Bench – rows of green, dramatic at sunset.
  • Downtown Kelowna waterfront – sailboats, the boardwalk, city energy for brand shoots.

Autumn (September–October)

  • Vineyards turning gold and red – the most requested season for weddings and family portraits.
  • Myra Canyon trestles – dramatic backdrop for adventurous couples.
  • Orchards at harvest – apples, pumpkins, warm evening light.

Winter (November–March)

  • Big White – snow, cabins and cosy family films.
  • Frosted lakeshore at dawn – quiet and beautiful for legacy and portrait work.
  • Indoor sessions at home – ideal for newborns and grandparents.
